SCOR
SCOR
Student Community OutReach was a club started by a student in 2008 who felt that her community had supported her in times of difficulty, so much so that she wanted to find ways to give back to them. Since that time, SCOR has helped people in need by working with several wonderful organizations that include: Be An Elf, Pine Street Inn, Gaining Ground, Boston Medical Center, and The Greater Boston Food Bank. All Arlington School students are welcome to join us in planning and participating in these projects. Our goal is to volunteer at least once a month, and expand on the different populations we’ve already helped. If you have any questions about getting involved contact the Transition Specialist, Megan Moran.
Please join us in making a difference!

Welcome Baby
Blankets
07/28/2010
In the SCOR program’s latest endeavor, the students and faculty of the Arlington School set out to make baby blankets for newborns who need them. Collecting scraps of fabric and balls of yarn, the group made a variety of blankets by knitting, crocheting, and sewing together different pieces of fabric. Each blanket was 40x40 inches, so the newborn babies can grow up with a handmade keepsake. Once all blankets are finished, they will be sent off to the Family Nurturing Center, wherein they will be included in “Welcome Baby” baskets, intending to help new parents with caring for their children.
